Low and behold! I begin a new portable NES projekt....this projekt existing because I need a stepping stone for my next and possibly ultimate creation, currently codenamed: Projekt Numbers (an imaginary cookie to anyone who figures out what it is based on that title alone )
Anyway, here's the beginning of my new operation!
This will be my video screen, as this portable will be much smaller than my last one.
Some insides of it there....
Hoping the total size of the screen after tweaking will take up this much space...just gotta figure out how to deal with the back plate..I'm fairly certain I can lose it, and still have a working screen...we shall see....
An imaginary chunk of cheese for anyone who figures out what this will be for
Here's a sketch I scribbled down showing roughly the overall shape of the unit and where everything will fit...more or less..I'm still not sure where I want to put the speaker yet
I'm fairly certain as to how big it will be right now...the overall thickness will be bout as much as the PNES mark1 (bout 1 1/4"), the width will be right around 6 3/4" and the height will be just about 3 1/2".
However, there's a good chance that I'll be able to shrink it down a little more still....don't know for sure bout that yet tho. Time will tell...Stay tuned!

Re: P-NES Mark2
Well, more importantly than "cheese", I think this will be one good looking portable, and the size is pretty darn good as well. Good luck! I still need to build my vac table, got all the parts, just never got around to the table.
Re: P-NES Mark2
What part of this are you going to vac form? It looks like the front will be flat; are you going to form the cart slot/ back?

Re: P-NES Mark2
Oookay....it's been a while since my last post on here...so i had better get an update doing.
Got the screen modded for the happening LED goodnes, also removed the shiny RF box, and all the dials and pluggies. I've also started working on the controllers using our good friend mr. perf board for all my custom positioning needs as I have plenty of tact switches, courtesy of a curb-side junkpile
Also, I finished the vac table...and it works pretty well...hopefully it'll work well-enough to make my case.
And that is all for now. I'll post some images eventually.
