So did I do the right thing by commissioning someone instead of building a portable myself?

I haven't been here in awhile, and looking back it's one of the worst ideas I ever had. I'm back and I'll be here for awhile, I was quite active 1 year ago and I hope to become that again.

What a coincidence! I dropped my iron on my leg about 10 minutes ago. Ice is nice!

Re: soldering burns :'(
I had some hot solder fly into my eye yesterday while trying to remove a wire from a board. It flung upwards and so did the solder....

Re: soldering burns :'(
I have been hit in the face many times with flying blobs of solder, but I stopped burning myself directly about 3-4 years ago, mainly because I was so used to soldering at that point, and just didn't make stupid mistakes anymore.
Cheers,
