from what i understand (never owning one) the GBC buttons are the same as the gameboy pocket. I love my gameboy pocket but i am having a building love for my SP but i hate those cheap a b buttons and d-pad. I want to just swap them out but am new to modding and such. looks like they would fit to me....

They wont, SP has custom buttons that are smaller than any previous system.
