I have always talked in my sleep, but it barely ever bothers anybody... That is except when we go camping when we are all sleeping in the same room. Now people (mom) are getting pretty upset that I will not stop sleep talking. Plus it's embarrassing. I have been camping at a local campground and have been returning home once a day to feed pets, which is why I am at home right now. When I woke up yesterday morning, My mom said that I started manically laughing in my sleep last night and followed the laughing with "it's a feature, heh heh." Last night when I was sleeping, I had a dream about finally finding a way to turn composite into RGB. Now my mom tells me that I kept her up all night rambling on about things like " You solder the connections bla bla bla.....to get the RGB bla bla......"
I can't help my sleep talking, and It is really starting to piss people off. Is there a good way to prevent myself from sleep talking? If so, how?

I talked in my sleep from age 6 up until about 13.
I stopped when I started learning about dreams, lucid dreams, etc.
Or more specifically, it stopped when I started keeping a dream journal.
(Anyone here who's looked into lucid dreaming probably knows what one of those is )
I for one never talked about anything inappropriate thankfully, but it was always worrisome, when I was old enough to know why
I don't really know what causes sleep talking, or what might help it, and in my case it was blind luck really that I did stop.

You could always get a gag of some sort. Hmm... Maybe just having something on your mouth at all might stop you from talking -- kinda like people needing glasses not being to see in their dreams without their glasses on, but in reverse.
As for Composite to RGB you need chroma decoder and sync separator chips, which are not easy to source, except in dreamland apparently...

I knew someone who had this problem, his doctor told him to chew gum before he slept until he went to sleep.
Dunno why, but he says it works!

I have no idea if this will help, but have you ever taken Melatonin. It is a non perscriprion sleep aid. The way I understand things, its helps you regulate your internal clock for sleep. Helps me go to sleep at normal times and wake up on time. Usually when I sleep I don't get any rest. When I wake up I'm just as tired as when I went to bed, if not worse. These pills work miracles.
You can get them at Walmart and places like that. Take them 30 min to an hour before you go to bed. Take a shower after taking them if you can, in my experience it helps a lot.

Don't worry, melatonin is a safe drug that doesn't induce any sort of euphoria. At best, it'll give you some awesome dreams.AfroLH wrote:Last time i trusted someone tha said that,project_failure wrote:These pills work miracles.

There's a reason why it's an over-the-counter drug. Also, you don't need to buy it from a shady producer over ebay. Most pharmacies and drugstores have them in their shelves. It's worth a try, and it could help with sleeptalking.
what is this i don't even

Sleep talking beats snoring. I had to room with a guy once who snored like a friggin bull moose during rut. That sucked balls.
copulate all you goddamn smartasses.

+1 on the Melatonin, I used to suffer greatly from Post-Traumatic stress syndrome. Lay awake in bed all night having violent thoughts. After i started on the melatonin it did not take long to start enjoying a full nights sleep. I now take it about once a week instead of every night.

Melatonin is also great for getting on a school schedule in a few nights after summer ends, or waking up early that one day for fishing.
Hey, sup?
