Re-make Forums?
Moderator:Moderators
My friend (Nightmare) and I was discussing on MSN about the forums. I said why don't we remake them? He replied about how his friend has a server with PHP and My SQL. So it's all up to you -- should we remake the forums, or should we reform the forums?

Why is this under The Trading Post? I think this sort of thing is one of the things we need to be changing I know you can't do polls in Forum 42, but still, just a verbal agree/disagree would work just as well (and you'd be able to explain why). Still, this is pointless. Ben has the final say, and if he likes it as-is, that's how it will stay.

Cardinal rule of the machanic: If it anit broken dont fix it.
Now we dont have a real problem with the forums. I can say for sure as I joint the old forum (yeah not long who cares) and then came to this one. Its fine.
The only problem we need to fix that has to do with the forum is the members! In the past two days we've had what about 10 threads about web-crawlers, spammers and what not. The thing is all you (as in the thread starters) have done is to complain. You offer no idea to fix it, you just start a thread and whine.
Look if Ben feels the spammer and web what ever warrents it he'll disable guest posting and make other ajustments to it as he needs. As members of HIS forum its our job to him to keep the bandwidth usage down.
And reformatting the forums isnt going ot solve anything if we dont inplement any thing to keep whats happening now from happening again.

Guys, stop complaining about everything, heres what you should do. Have a new forum, strictly flamming. That way the mods can put it there. If anything ever arises. Then guess what no more probs. 95% of forums have fighting on it, so why not have a designated location to do this? if you want proof just ask me ill list a very active one. I think ben should update the software(i think it needs to be, not sure). Anyways, mods lock Every topic except one. Then every one that is made after that.
I will stick to my motto, "suck it up". If your are offended, then well get over it, in the real world, some times you will have to get over it. If you are still offended then talk to me about it, in a post dont Private message me. get your thoughts out in the open.

A flaming section, that'd be really awesome!

nah, all that really happened was a spammer in the middle of flaming. It'll clear out eventually. The biggest part of the whole problem seems to be the attitudes of others, of which this would not help. C'mon you guys, this board is about to celebrate its first birthday, and we're all flaming each other

Banners, don't care. Pop-ups..I dunno, Firefox seems to do a good job of stopping pop-ups, so again, don't really care.
