Zombie movies!

Post by Kurt_ » Thu Mar 15, 2007 6:53 pm

According to my girlfriend, I am obsessed with zombies and zombie invasions. I can't lie, I kind of am. It would be nice to be in one, at least for a little while.

The problem being, for the moment, I can't. So I want to watch one. But I've seen a lot of them already.

Does anyone recom, end any zombie movies that are good, and possibly lesser heard of? Like 28 Days later.

"Shaun of the Dead" is a hilarious flick if you haven't seen that yet.

I have seen shaun. I'd name all the one's I have, but I don't know the specific names. Oh. My. God. 28 Weeks later, the sequel to 28 Days later!!!

I found a list on wikipedia.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_zombie_films

I don't want to see anything pre-1990, unless it's totally awesome.

One's I KNOW I've seen:

28 Days later.
Night of the Living Dead.
Dawn of the Dead.
Land of the Dead.
Some Australian one where aliens are the cause of it.
Resident Evil
RE Apocalypse.
Shaun of thge Dead.

One's I might want to see:

Day of the Dead.
Grindhouse.
House of the Dead? (Heard it sucked) I & II.
RE Extinction
Return of the Living Dead 1-5 (There's 5, it might be good!)

@Cows. It's ok, it's just that this deal is completely on a trust basis, and well, I don't know you, and thus, apart from your reputation here, don't trust you enough as I would like. But I know I'm just paranoid.

Night of the comet. Its where a comet caused all life on earth to be destroyed except for a few which became zombies and ones that were indoors when it happened.

that is worth the money if you like old horror films. got a couple of actually good ones but mostly filled with the great cheesy horror films from the 40s-60s that will make you laugh more then anything.

The Ozzy movie is called Undead (from 2003). It was horrible but entertaining. Good old ozzy dry dry dryyy humour!
In Berkeley, Australia, a meteor shower transforms the locals in zombies. A group of survivals fight against the zombies and try to escape to another town. However, they find that aliens built a wall around the area and are abducting the people. Written by Claudio Carvalho, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil

I advise Braindead, it's what Peter Jackson did before he bacame fameous. might be a bit odd to say the least, but if you want to see possibly the best zombie comedy I advise it.

pales in comparison to the comedy that is called a horror film called redneck zombies. rednecks get turned into zombies via radiation and hilarity ensues...

Doom would have been half decent if it hadn't been called Doom. Doom was supposed to have demons, not politically correct monsters.

Anyway the first House of the Dead was a great movie. I have seen it many many times and its within the top 2-3 zombie movies I have in the collection. The second one looks too crappy to even spend money on. :(

I don't know how the first House of the Dead was so awesome... Oh well I guess thats its own thread or something.

My comic has one zombie in it, for one frame in a really early episode! He says.. wait for it... Braaaaaaaains!!!!!

Mmmmm. Braaaaaaaains!

I'm a big fan of wild zero.

it's like playing 'hi Bob', with zombies. very useless, asian zombies. not that I'd ever advise drinking to make a movie good, but it helps make some survivable. Actually playing that game by the 'rules' isn't even humanly possible.

otherwise, for zombie movies without built-in drinking games, dawn of the dead (earlier one), resident evil, or even Lifeforce were pretty good.

wild zero was fantastic. i recommend day of the dead, simply because its a romero zombie movie. another movie i would recommend is zombie, or also know as zombi 2. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zombi_2
Don Knotts and his Amazing Time Machine
