All of you who are or have been working on a PS2P must now re-evaluate the situation.

Sorry guys I didn't know that this topic was already posted. So Moderators, feel free to lock or delete this thread. But I do think this thread has better links to better photos with more info then the other one does.

Holy crap.... the transformer rating is 5.3A!!! I know that it probably won't take that much, but still, that's a lot.

Just a thought but how would someone go about connection the hdd to the new PS2? You think they'll have an adapter or just say "screw it" and all you have is either-net.

I though FFXI rquired the HDD. If it is required, then Sony wouldn't dare leave out the connection.

If that thing really takes 5.3 AMPS then you can say goodbye PS2p. (At least with this THING!) Sure it takes 8.5v but so what... 5.3 AMPS! Come on...

I would assume that the extra power is only incase of use with the sony hdd.
Normall 3.5" drives require around 10 watts of power.

Also, since it's newer, I'd assume that it's more efficient and draws less than 2 amps.

I wonder if it still uses a cooling fan. Just being able to play PS2 games with out that dam loud fan noise would be reason enough to buy it.
