My own Gamecube Portable

Post by predue » Sat Jan 09, 2010 11:20 am

Hey guys. One time i get bored and was thinking of making something very special. I saw a Gamecube portable on youtube.com and was wondering if i could make one, too =).
Here are my results for the moment:

I startet with the electric before i made the case. So i had the problem to put the case around the electrik components... but i found a form that fits really good.

I made the case with a selfmade vacuum-former. This was really simple to make =) I made it with 1mm ABS-plastic. Then I startet to put in the display and some controlbuttons.

And so on...
Finally it will have an included memory card with 1019 blocks, a video-out (the normal for gamecubes) with a switch to power off the intern display, a memorycard-slot (B) so that I can move my files =), audio-out etc...
This is what I used:
Gamecube Pal
Psone-screen Pal (no led mod)
Accu 12,7V 9800maH

Now with all buttons =)
But it was difficult for me to make the holes without the right instruments... so they look not so nice...

The mainboard and some cables added...

This is the actual status. I have problems with the discdrive. So i stopped the work on it. I think I will continue with this in feb. Because I will move in another city =)
I would like you to send some suggestions for the project.

Do you have dimensions for the case? BTW, one of my favorite GC Portables so far.
Unnamed N64 Portable...Or GameCube still deciding~
Total: [0% - - - - - - - - - - 100%]
-Case: [0% - - - - - - - - - - 100%]
-Circuitry: [0% - - - - - - - - - - 100%]

Hey ChaoBreeder!
Dimensions are: 25x16,5x4cm (at its highest point (the laser) 7,5cm)
in inches: 9,84x6,45x1,57 (2,95)

i have rather large hands so it works fine for me ;)

(sry no pics because its stowed away)

Thank you! I like your design of the case and might base mine off of this.
