Ps2 On Psone Screen

Post by sniper_ps2 » Fri Dec 03, 2004 5:55 am

Hi, i've been looking at some diagrams showing the 12 pins on the ps2 av cord, but i look at mine (pal) and i have only 5, it is a red, yellow & white cord by the way if that matters, i am planning on modifing a psone screen to work on my ps2 and im just wondering if i can get the male av slot (psone screen) into the ps2 female slot through a cord, will it work??

thanx

The a/v cables for the Playstation/PSOne/PS2/PSX are all interchangable. The extra pins on the console are for you to output a veriaty of signals (conposit, RGB, VGA, ect.) the reason your cable only has 5 is it only needs those pins, putting in more would be a waste of money and time so they leave them out.

... so you must put in a "rbg/composite" switch.

help?

Post by sniper_ps2 » Fri Dec 03, 2004 6:57 pm

I have clipped up the ps2 av cord and found that the five cords are actually one for red, one for yellow and one for white and the rest are grounds. i know which cords are which but i don't knon how to hook up these wires to the solds above the av input on the unit, there are the twelve solds but i don't know which is red/white/yellow/grounds. Would i be better off using the av plug from the sony cut at the ends and attach the av wires straight to the psone controller? and if so how?

cheers

i've read that the psone screen has av inputs?? if so i can power the screen with an adapter or battery, and have it connected through av cords thru to the sony?

but when connecting through av cords you still need to input 5V through the playstation a/v jack.

yes, so that means if you want to use that cord you'll have to open up the psone screen and mod it.
