another good thing to use it for would be to hook up like video audioR audioL and ground cause the usb has 4 wires so that makes the screen a removable screen and can be used for other portables/projects
Cleaver idea but you need 5 wires like he said.

ok, Ive got the finilizing things going. The only thing I have left to do is add the screen, and screw the case shut.

The back part of the N64 game is not removeable. It is superglued, hot glued, and may be epoxied to the controller.
The front half is removeable to access wires leading to the screen and Power. Not only does this speed up the finishing of it, but it easilly allows me to access this wiring. it also has the controller glop top in there, so if thats broken then it can be accessed.

The battery pack is glued to the back of the cartrige, and the USB cables have been cut short. The socket is glued in place, and the Computer plug was cut up and made useable (was too big to place against flat surface.)

Pictures after I decide that the case is secure enough to handle playing.

Next up, USB with the extreme flash!

How thick is it?

Whats it look like?

Thats it for now, and not much left. I guess I should add a power LED, or mabye Epoxy that one part of the case, but I currently feel Its stable.

To take a guess at what its going to be, take out the STARFOX 64 logo, and put in a nice screen and speakers!

Looks good!

The only thing I'd suggest would be to epoxy or bondo the seams between the controller and former cartridge, you know to clean it up a bit. But other than that, great job!

I was writing a big long post and it got closed...

So heres a summary. Im adding electrical tape to the back since the front is fine. im just putting it around the cart slot because it would look good there. In person, you could tell, but from the picture, I dont think you would see how it actually looked.

Cool, are you really putting a screen in the cartridge? Thats a neat idea for a modular design. In theory couldn't you use a cartridge slot for a screen (hacked up into say 10 pins and well I guess you would have to make your own pcb or hack up an old game cartridge to connect to it)? By connecting the traces at the same spots in each connector. You would only be using about 5 or 6 of the cartridge pins but if it works it would make a neat way to connect a screen to each diffrent portable you make. Just don't blow into the screen, or put it in backwards.

Yeah that cartrige idea is good.

I put electrical tape on the backside of the controller, and it turned out nice.
