Re: gateway 1775w/xbox 360 laptop help!
Hi, I have built an xbox laptop and had this problem aswell:
Dont try to use the stock monitor power supply for the backlight power supply. Use the original driver board and then buy a cheap universal inverter board from ebay. I am guessing your screen has 2 backlights, so you will need to get this one: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Universal-Dual-Ou ... 51988aa30d
Although it does take a long time to come from china, they work very well and are very simple, they just need 12v and easily run of the xbox power supply (just grab the power from the xbox motherboard). They hardly take any power so it should work fine, mine does.
PM/Contact me if you hav eany more questions or need pinouts for that inverter board.
