Re: project help
Once again, unless you have experience with electronics and money, probably not going to happen. You need a nice monitor (money), you may break the xbox (money), and you might just give up (wasted money).
I'd start with an NOACp.
Unless you have money and experience.

Re: project help
Look, I'm sorry to tell you, but you probably can't do this if you have to ask that question.
Anyway, how much money do you have to spend, and how much do you expect it to cost?

Re: project help
look if u r going to give me advice do so but do give me this crap btw no more than 1,000
Re: project help
Just look through Ben's write ups on the main site and tutorials on Engadget. Very few people other than Ben have built an 360 laptop, and none have looked as good.

Re: project help
Hey, I just don't want you to break anything.
Fine, other then Ben's writeup, you're not going to get a more detailed tutorial. I guess it's technically possible to make one with 1,000 dollars, but unless you have stuff to make a case, it's probably not going to be completely completed by the end of the year. Maybe playable, but not completely finished.
Good luck.

Re: project help
The project can be completed as quickly as you want it to be done. The BIBLE for this are Ben's Engaget tutorials. Everything you need to know can be derived from these articles. Read them over and be prepared to use it as a knowledgebase as you may have to sway from it on your own project.
The hardest part in my opinion was the case. Others are right BenHeck's are masterpieces. I have no exp in case building so I had to use a briefcase.
From scratch I'd say the cost to build one (using a briefcase) would be between $600 and $700 bucks.
Here was my breakdown.
Cost Breakdown:
$100 Xbox 360 (ebay Had RRoD)
$140 Gateway HD1900 LCD (Best Buy)
$50 360 Wireless adapter (ebay)
$25 SLV Durable Aluminum Notebook Briefcase (outletpc)
$10 ADJUSTABLE-FRICTION HINGE (mcmaster)
$25 Insignia® - Flat-Panel Portable USB Speakers (Best Buy)
$20 (3) GPU Heat sinks
$10 Wire, Solder, Ties etc. (Radio Shack)
$5 360 VGA Adapter (ebay)
$3 Audio Jack female to female coupler (Radio Shack)
$20 Plexiglass
Total $408
