Well I didn't see anyone answer the question so I will. .wav is uncompressed, and it's generally what you'll get off of an audio CD. If you're doing an audio work it's suggested you export in this then later have it compressed to MP3.
As for a program that you can use, Audacity. It's free, has great quailty and as it's open-source you'll find tons of documentation on how to use it.
Hope the music turns out great.

Well i have logic, a yamaha 8 channel mixer, 2 condenser mics, a sm57 instrument mic and an ASIO compatable audio card. I dont have a midi keyboard but i think i could find one to use for a while to make some techno type things. What kind of music are you looking for? I can play the guitar ... ok. and the bass a little. What genre or type of music are you looking for marshall? That would help me come up with ideas for some samples.

If you want to make some NES-sounding music, check out Nerd Tracker II.
http://nesdev.parodius.com/nt2/
Just be prepared to write all the music in hex code. If you have used another tracker before, it shouldn't be extremely difficult. Check out the demo files, especially BENNY.NED and DMSONG5.NED.
If you want to do some MIDI composing, use Anvil Converter.

Does anyone have any good SID trackers that are somewhat easy to use? (I'm still figuring out NT2. )

I made this tune a while back with ModPlug Tracker, as sort of a cheesy SNES-type song.

I took a look at Ableton Live and it is SO easy compared to real tracking
But whatever sounds best matters.

Paradies are not illegal, you're not using the copyrighten lyrics. Remixes I don't knnow about, and if you wanted to use their beats I don't know (might). If you want to get around the beats issue do what Vinilla Ice did, add some stupid ring to the beat so it's different.Kurt_ wrote:Just a thought:
If we redid/remixed copyrighted music, is that copyright infringement?
They can't copyright all beats that sound somewhat similar to theirs can they?

Actually I did read Skyone's post. As I stated you can use a beat so long as it's not identical. Ice got his butt dragged into court for his beat and was found that nothing was wrong because it was a little differnt. So long as you change the beat so they're not the same/identical/clones/copies your fine.
