A game is never really 'completed', there will be many updates and other work going on long after it is done. A solution to if it is ever completely done, might be to make the forum for a broader range, for the game engine's work and mods and such.daguuy wrote:yay! i found a quarter! ok back on topic, i say yay! one thread for a big project involving a lot of people is too unorganized. it should be a temporary forum cause this is just one project and be deleted after GTP is done because it won't be relevent to anything anymore
*Should Grand Theft Portable have its own forum?*

1. Once the forum is created then deleting it would be possible but a big hit to user's post counts
2. I have no plans to stop this anytime soon, since I have 1320some members watching this I won't have any excuse to get lazy and quit
3. As sniper_spike said, this game will probably never be a done deal. There will be a point at which the game is released as finished, but there will always be bug reports, fixes, etc as well as general gameplay questions. It makes sense to have a seperate place for this instead of cluttering up Forum 00101010.

In that case make a programming forum. Yeah I know we had one for about a day as a result from a hacking, but it could be better as it would server more projects like GTP.bicostp wrote:Ah but what about people who go "What? A whole new forum to discuss in? Yay! "

Or what about a "Misc. Projects" forum? You know, cover all bases (programming, computer stuff, HTML...)

That would crowd up with other stuff, and make it worse in terms of organization.bicostp wrote:Or what about a "Misc. Projects" forum? You know, cover all bases (programming, computer stuff, HTML...)

You bring up a good point. I don't want to sound like someone who just wants their own forum, but really, what would we gain from another 'gaming' forum?bioniclebert wrote:should be something likea GAMES section. you know, like discussing making other (or playing) PC games.
It would basically be another Forum 42, and we would have the same problem with GTP organization that we have now... there would be no way to focus on GTP because there will probably be tons of other threads anyway.
Well, I think games in general are too far removed from the discussion goal at this forum - while GTP is a game, it's directly related to portablization.
