what do you guys think of the new AMD fusion apu?
its a single chip with both a dual core cpu and a 6310.
it easily outperforms the atom, dual core atom and in some cases the i3.

Re: AMD Fusion (discussion thread)
Minor detail: It easily outperforms the i3 in the integrated graphics category.
AMD has a better integrated graphics solution than Intel, surprise surprise. It would have been better if they compared with a D510 based ION2 platform; both halves of the original ION have been surpassed in performance and efficiency.
It will be interesting to see how the Ceadar Trail Atom CPUs coming this year will hold up.

I think it's great AMD has bounced back from the recall issues and is releasing new processors, and for budgets they're fantastic, but I can't help but feel like them actually competing with intel now adays, in terms of speed is a thing of the past :\ Guess we'll have to see how bulldozer does.

Re: AMD Fusion (discussion thread)
Just got my msi u270, which sports the fusion APU.
I havnt really had time to mess around with it much as I have been busy cleaning the hdd of all that trial crap you get with new laptop.
So far it has been excellent, I installed 8gb of ram and am yet to go over 30% in terms of usage, when I get around to playing some games it will no doubt slow it down.
(system ram is shared with the gpu, that's why I have so much)
It got a 3.8 on the windows experience index, with the processor holding the system back, still surprisingly good for a sub notebook.
I'll post more info on it's performance after I do some gaming.
