Have you tested any of the screens on a psOne? I don't want to buy one to find that I get one of those image scrolling problems.

Mhm, I might give #3 a try. Euro conversion + free shipping gives me a pretty good deal at about 20€ + free shipping. Let's just hope there's no import taxes.
The only drawback is that it takes 12V, but I'll assume that these all do. Have you experimented with how low they're willing to go? The item description said 10% for #3 but that might be a "just in case" kind of thing
edit: just saw they will take 5V. Excellent

I ordered #2. Because it's only 20 euros including shipping. Gonna use it for a portable NES or SNES. For my N64 I really want a 5"

I've ordered #3 now. Also 20€
Thing is, #2 looks nice but the bad angle kills it for me.
Many thanks for the great review!

I don't really care much 'bout the angle, not going to use it for multiplayer anyways.
Btw, just payed for it by PayPal
€21,38 EUR

I've found it can annoy you if it's very sensitive, even if you're holding it in front of your face, but of course that's just me. Also not sure /how/ bad it is. I might give it a try as well, but I need to stop buying screens and start actually making projects with them.

Just bought number 3.
Do you happen to know what resolution thee screens are? The one I bought is claimed to be 640 by 480, but I doubt that - it's probably 320 by 240. That's fine for most purposes; most N64 games have a native resolution of 320x240, although the system was capable of full 640x480.

Left my number 2 screen at Uni, but can test it for you when I go back this weekend.themadhacker wrote:Have you tested any of the screens on a psOne? I don't want to buy one to find that I get one of those image scrolling problems.

Your getting the scrolling problems due to grounding the screen incorrectlythemadhacker wrote:Have you tested any of the screens on a psOne? I don't want to buy one to find that I get one of those image scrolling problems.
Re: The definitive 3.5" Lcd review
Yeah, it should work fine with any screen. They need a common ground however.

That's not what I mean. I have heard several different people say that it gets some scrolly wierd image from a few different older systems. I think the nes was one that had problems.

When #2 arrives here, I'll test it.

Re: The definitive 3.5" Lcd review
how would you hook the speakers up to the screen? or to the system that you could use. i was woundering this because the psone screen has the speakers hooked up to the screen circuit board itself. and how would you hook up the speakers and put in volume control?

Re: The definitive 3.5" Lcd review
You need an amp with speakers and volume control. It will have a audio input. You will hook the red/white audio cables from the system to the amp. You don't hook speakers to the screen.
Use the amp/speaker combo I reviewed here:

Re: The definitive 3.5" Lcd review
I just got screen number 3 in the mail and it's great, I tested it at lower voltages and and got it to run off of 3 volts!
Anyway here are the ratings
3v = 180mA
4.5v = 150mA
6v = 105mA
7.5v = 105mA
9v = 91mA
And these were all tested while playing smash bros, the current doesn't change nearly at all when actually processing video.
