Ps1 controller in a gba shell.

Post by PRThomas » Thu Nov 11, 2010 6:37 pm

I'm building a ps1 controller (the joystickless version) that's in a gba shell. And I want to hopefully put in an lcd screen that shows what's on the screen as well. Does anyone know if the LCD would be possible?

Actually I took the ps1 controller apart just to
Get a feel of it and the circuit board is wider than the gba is. So i would have to put it in vertically. Not a problem except the triangle circle etc would be in the spot where I want the screen now. So unless someone can think of am idea on how to put it in the gba shell, I'm kinda hopeless.

I looked at it again and its still possible but it will take some hard core case mods. The product
Will end up looking like a gba ps controller combo.

the buttons dont have to be in the exact place you want them, you can always rewire the buttons to put them in another location, its not hard at all.

how do you plan on getting the "screen" part to work. extra wires, more circuits, less space, you see where im going.

My plan was to run the screen wire along the controller wire. Then idk, tape them tpgether.

Would the screen from a digital camera work in this situation?

I gave up on trying to rewire the buttons and just went with and ps1 controller, gameboy combo. Not great on cosmetics but I'm still working on it.

Well that is a gameboy colour, gameboy colours are 2.6” diagonally screensize though. On a side note i think you should check this out http://www.sjmediasystem.com/lf-30s.html
