I have an idea.

+
http://www.goldenshop.com.hk/AI-trad/Mi ... attery.htm" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; ... attery.htm rechargeable battery
+
Game Boy Color (which I own)
+
Backlight (LEDs, DS backlight sheets)
+
http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.2905" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; Screwdriver, which I'm assuming can work for GBC
=
The Game Boy Angel! And it costs under $50!
Is this a good idea? Is the seller of the two things listed above reliable?
Maybe I should get a replacement screen, too.
HEY GUYS FIXED DAH LINKERS!

Nice, you lost it right off the bat.
Also, what is the concept for this mod? Are you basically going to make it shine like an "angel"? If you wanted to, you could try to make the lighting sound reactive, but I don't know how practical that would be.

Anywho, I might add some LEDs to the case. Sound reactive LEDs may get in the way of playing, unless they are dim - then that would be cool! Thanks for the idea, though I have no idea of how to implement that. That feature may be a maybe (hehe, maybe a maybe).
I also may do a Pro-Sound mod, as the loud buzzing noise that occurs when you plug in headphones is very noticeable.
The whole purpose of this mod is to make it "new", like something you buy at Gamestop brand new and be "amazed" by it.

Ha, good luck. I always try to go for that effect myself, but after hours of toil and working on something, and knowing exactly how it works, kinda hard to be amazed at the end. ![Sad :(](./images/smilies/icon_sad.gif)
You can impress other people, though!![Laughing ](./images/smilies/icon_lol.gif)
