doing a secret project that i've had in planning for YEARS now. lol!
here's a sneak peak!
believe it or not, i only just started all this just 4 days ago on saturday.
the top piece will be green, the bottom two pieces will stay white. same as how the HandyNES (red mushroom) was done. there will also be a green mushroom sticker on the back, same as the red mushroom.
anyway, here it is after a 2nd coat of krylon fusion (showing just 3 days of work):
i'm still keeping my lips sealed as to what it is exactly.

Re: code name: green mushroom
ok, i was not happy with how the case was looking. it wasn't seamless enough for my work.
so, i went back to primer. this time, i used actual primer. not fusion. i'm learning that fusion really isn't good for any parts that you use bondo or filler on. only for the plastic parts that aren't modded very much (buttons, cart slot covers, back pieces).
so, anyway, after this disaster happened i decided i needed to strip and primer
it is now seriously looking sexy, all seamless and perfect
will be starting fresh on the green coats tomorrow.

Re: code name: green mushroom
i'm a little slow on actually submitting my updates... so here is 3 in 1!
quick update
that primer did wonders. it looks sooooooooooooooooooo good!
i'm thinkin just one more coat of green. generally always do at least 2 coats. then put on the label and 2 clear coats. then the case will pretty much be done.
taste the rainbow
ok, the final coat of green has been done.
all the case has left is putting the name decal on the front and 2 clear coats to protect it.
i am really happy about how the case is turning out!

Re: code name: green mushroom
someone has finally guessed what green mushroom is!!! from my facebook: "Ryan Taylor Ah ah figures it out damn finally ok so you are taking plug-n-play systems flashing the games onto carts and then somehow playing those on an atari board. That's about as close as I can get at the moment. But it is not a console per se but an amalgam console. You're turning a tv plugin type into a hand held"
this is, for the most part, correct. i am doing a plug and play portable. i will be encasing each plug and play in famicom carts. the system only houses the controls, screen, ports, and batteries. each cart will hold the individual plug and plays aka consoles.
way to finally guess it, ryan!

i think i'm good for p&ps. i have 21 i'll be working on already.
still have a few more to make. they are taking nearly as long as making the case took. lol! i may go back and change some of these a little, i dunno yet.

This is a really neat project. Is the Radica (any of the 3) going to be used?
