Arcade machine screen help

Post by hitch55 » Thu Mar 18, 2010 3:54 am

Hi all, apologies in advance for my arcade machine n00b status...

I have recently come into possession of a Tekken arcade machine, i think it used to be a golf game (judging by the stickers around the joystick) but its now a Tekken machine (marquee says Tekken, as do the screen-side instructions), so i assume someone has either changed the PCB or for some reason just stuck a golf game decal on it (!).
The problem i have is that the game was working fine and then suddenly died. I have changed the main fuse in the plug and now the machine starts up, lights come on, all the kung-fu game noises start playing from the speakers, but the screen stays blank. Do you think this could be a fuse in the monitors plug or something more serious?

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

hiya hitch , i would recommend going to Arcade Otaku Forums for more advice on this matter. The problem sounds very much like something is wrong with you Monitors Chassis , i had a problem with my Chassis and sent it to Jomac Amusements in Australia and now im back up and running.

hope this helps and good luck

Hey,

Yea a fuse on the Monitor Chassis would be it.

It could also be a diode as they blow sometimes too.

Test them with a Multimeter (But of course, unplug it)

Also, check your PSU, JAMMA Harness and connections too.

Thanks.

*EDIT*

You may need to re-cap the Monitor too...

Buy a Cap-Kit for it and re-install a fresh one :!:
