Console Laptop Case

So I am currently underway on the ambitious (for me at least) project of building an Xbox 360 laptop. However, I would just like to know if anyone has ever thought about maybe building the case out of pure aluminum, or would that insulate too well and make the console run too hot? Or does anyone else have any ideas for other materials to build the case out of? I'd prefer not to have to order any material online if at all possible...I hate waiting for shipping So, thanks for any advice any of you have!
