Removing logo from a controller.

Yes it is nice to be able to put your projects INSIDE something isn't it? You know, to hold everything together so it doesn't flop around? Discuss the techniques here!

Removing logo from a controller.

Post by flax » Sat Apr 18, 2009 11:04 am

I'm in the planning stages of a genesis portable. And I'm going to put the top part of a Honeybee 6 button controller on the case. I'm not very keen on 'Honey Bee' logo though. Is there any way of removing the paint or is it like fused with the plastic? Tried rubbing it with alcohol but it didn't do squat.

Logos I would like to remove: http://i36.photobucket.com/albums/e40/f ... C00037.jpg" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

just sand it off with really high grit sandpaper.

It's probably silk-screened onto the plastic. The only way to remove it is sanding. Don't try to use any solvents like acetone, you'll dissolve the plastic.

I recall someone using sugar cubes to get logos off of cell phones. I'd be interesting if someone here tried it for true on something like this.

Not sure if it does anything beyond what sandpaper would do, but the results are quite nice.
Hey, sup?

Yep. I can vouch for that one. Rubbing alcohol dissolves the red ink on the NES cart door. Mine has a pink hue around it now from when I cleaned it a few years ago.

Really? I repaired a good friend's NES, and finished it off by cleaning it with rubbing alcohol, and the logo is still there and red as ever.
