I am going to start a business building audio amps in about a week or so. Most likely just LM386 audio amps. Would any of you be interested in buying pre-made audio amps for 9 bucks shipped? And instead of using those bulky potentiometers, I would use those volume control wheels. I can also build LM386 stereo amps for 13 bucks shipped. On the stereo amps I would control both channels on one volume control wheel instead of two (instead of using one for each channel). I will make the amps as small as possible, because these amps will probably go into portables right? Since these amps will probably go into portables, I can relocate the volume control wheels with some wire (obviously ) if you want.
Here is an example.
Next to a quarter:
Next to a speaker:
The circuit is smaller than the speaker!!!
The circuit in the picture is without the LM386.
The little jack at the bottom left will not be there when or if you do order one.
Anyone interested???

Re: Audio Amps
very interested, if you could build one with a smt capacitor/resistors, and remove the 3.5mm plug for two solder points
also interested in a small stereo one
also interested in a small stereo one

something like this?

EDIT: SMT capacitor/resistor, or SMD?

Thanks snow!

Re: Audio Amps
the only bummer is no matter how much you mess with them LM386s still have terrible sound quality. i've built one similarly sized to the one you are offering and no matter what values i adjust it still sounds like crap they work sure but you arent going to get super high quality sound out of them

Re: Audio Amps
Of course you don't get the best of the best sound out of the LM386, but this is just a cheap alternative for those who don't want to go and buy the supplies and make it themselves.
This is actually a good deal because if you go to radioshack, these are the following prices:
LM386 - $1.50
220 uf capacitor - $1.50
0.1 uf ceramic cap - $1
potentiometer - $2
volume control wheel - $2
Perf board - $2
And if you don't have wire then you would have to buy that too.
That all adds up to $10 and I am selling them for $9 shipped!
EDIT: If you live out of the US, then we would have to work out a shipping price.

Re: Audio Amps
Anyone looking for good stereo quality might want to look at the TPA6021A4. quoting Rekarp:
Rekarp wrote:I can build a LM386 amp with a speaker/control for under $8. Be no bigger then the LM386 really looking at less than 1sq inch.hailrazer wrote:Feel free to show me a better and cheaper all in one speaker/amp/volume comboRekarp wrote:Little big and expensive imo.
Stereo..I will have to find that schematic.
Edit//
found it.

Chips is $2.30 for all the parts you are still looking under $14. Probably less for a really high quality stereo amp. Has built in headphone detection and everything.
