I'm not an electronics guru....
How can I provide 12v for a screen and 5v to power everything else for my handheld?
Do I put in 2 voltage regulators (a 5v and a 12v) and have my battery feed both?
I'd rather not have multiple battery packs in my device....
Thanks!!

Yes, you can use one battery pack to power your entire portable by simply attaching multiple wires to the PCB (Protection Circuit Board). Two wires, one positive and one negative, without a regulator (presuming the battery pack is roughly 12v) can power the screen. The other two wires can have a 7805 regulator (http://www.radioshack.com/product/index ... Id=2062599) attached to the negative side to adjust the voltage to 5v. Be warned; that kind of regulator bleeds heat, and must be placed close to the fan.
Hope this helps!

Most screens can run just fine on 7.4v so you can use camcorder batteries to power them.
Then use a 7805 to power the system.
But most systems run fine on 7.4v also. What system are you portabalizing ?
