Colecovision Composite video mod gives washed out color?

I have done the mod described on this site to three different colecovisions. One turned out with great color, except there are some faint vertical lines, although this does not bother me. On the other two systems, the color seems to be washed out, not as vivid as the color produced by the regular RF. Any thoughts?
