Re: WIIp it
Ok, currently looking into using a LM2577-12 for converting my battery into a suitable voltage. Anyone know of better 5V to 12V converters?

Re: TV with built-in PS3, Xbox 360, and Wii.
Not if you want to do it I suppose. I've never seen a 52" CRT, so maybe rear projection? Would be odd trying to shove those console into an LCD or plasma. Be careful of capacitors as they can kill you though... :/

Re: SNES USB controller for PC gaming?
Either way you will need an adapter, whether you build it yourself or not. You can interface to the midi or parallel port without much / any circuitry, but USB would require reencoding the serial data from the SNES controller as a USB HID signal (other USB data formats would work, but this would req...

Re: WIIp it
Got my battery today, everything is fitting together fine, but looks like I need to get a step-up converter for the battery. The 12V line on it isn't quite enough to power the wii unfortunately. Looking more like I'll be going for the wider laptop design rather than the thicker design, I wouldn't ha...

Also, how much current do you need? And what do you mean by "trash the voltage"?

Re: How to indentify pinouts?
I use a multimeter / continuity tester and my eyes to trace the lines usually. Sometimes you actually have to look at the voltage on the lines to see what type of data it might be though. I remember trying to figure out the p/s, clock, and data lines on some NOAC units, only giveaway was their volta...

Re: WIIp it
I don't see any specific advantage to modding the disc drive to be top loading, not to mention the amount of work it would require.
My battery gets in tomorrow, and I hope I'm not wrong about how well it'll work (about the size of the wii, but ~.5" thick

Re: MGC 2010 HYPE thread
After a few things that have come up, it's looking highly unlikely that I'll make it to MGC this year. Should be coming home from a short trip to Japan around the 27th, could try to come home a few days earlier to catch a ride to MGC, but not sure about that

Re: WIIp it
I already know and have talked about that, the only issue is that it can only be flipped over to the side with the gamecube ports. If you want to flip it to the other side you need an extension cable.

Re: GC pinouts
Which pinouts specifically? The a/v, controller, memorycard, power ones? Or the onboard pinouts for things like dvd drive, lid switch, dc power lines, etc?

Re: WIIp it
Looks like I can save some space by relocating the bluetooth module. Looks like it'd be 16 fairly small wires though >< I can also save a bit more by relocating the SD card slot (or maybe just permanently adding a large sd card, then I put it where ever there's a bit of space. Granted, all of this i...

Re: WIIp it
Doing a bit of work while waiting for parts I bought to arrive. Just opening up my wii now (not that I haven't before :P) Prepped part of the lcd case for modification (removed parts, took off stickers, etc), not sure if I'll use it though. But having the hinges already made (and a case that's made ...

Re: First Ever ZN-45 WII PORTABLE!!!!........Worklog!
Been awhile since I've looked at the wii mobo. Seeing it's size make me want to take it out of the case for mine now... hard choice, wouldn't want to wreck it
