Re: Who wants to be an Atarionaire: Atari 2600 4-switch portable
I suggest getting one of these: http://focus.ti.com/docs/prod/folders/print/ptn04050c.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; You can either go the legit way and buy one from someplace like DigiKey.com or Mouser.com, or take the quick and easy way and just order a free sample from TI. Pr...

Re: Red/White and Metal/Wood CNC SNESp's
Oh my Lord - it finally came to life! Shortening the relocated cartridge slot's wires did the trick. All I needed to do was take off an inch or two... on Every. Single. Wire. Boy that was fun. Mainly why I held off on doing it until today. Good news is that it works and all the controls worked on th...

Re: My new portable making toy :)
Well in that case you had no option. You had to get the CNC! It's for the kids :P I am all for small business - I work in a family business myself and there is just nothing that compares. Working from home is going to be nice compared to having to work out of town all the time. I wish you the best o...

Re: Hailrazer's N64Boy Advance
Such a clean build! I've been kicking around ideas for my next couple of portables, and the original N64 buttons and joystick are a lopsided bulky mess. I was leaning toward using tacts with caps, but now you've convinced me. Maybe I'll put some durable decals on the buttons or something. It's funny...

Re: Hackmodford's Dreamcast Portable Comission
I can vouch for Pololu's patient team of laser cutting experts :D They've held my hand many times as I dealt with some lousy resizing issues due to Inkscape files being wonky when opened in Adobe Illustrator. Also, yes - reuse lines whenever and wherever possible. Less lines and less material equals...

Re: Who wants to be an Atarionaire: Atari 2600 4-switch portable
Maybe for a short while if at all? Here's how it's usually done - you get some power supply (batteries or power adapter) that provides over 5v and use a regulator to step the voltage down to 5v. Most people use what came with the system - for NES, SNES, Atari, and most other systems that is a 7805 l...
