Re: [PC] Cannibalizing LCD from old laptop
If you have $35 and a month to kill, NJYTouch is a great option for re-using those old screens. I've got 4 controller boards from them for 4 monitors, and they all work now. My only issue is the monitor I was most excited to get to use turned out to not have square pixels. This pisses me off. But th...

Re: Found a prosseser need help
If you're wondering how you could use it, it's one of those "If you have to ask, you can't" deals. In all honesty, if you're trying to use this for anything other than a "Because I can" type project, it's way off track already. For controlling an LED matrix; unless you like doing a lot of research,...

Re: 36X Controller PCB
Of course. I've been watching this here and on SceneX, and figured some feedback was better than none; so I figured I'd post what I'm thinking. I was looking at the idea as "You provide the chips from the controller" for the kit, giving about $5 for the board, $35 for the remap related ICs, and the ...

Re: 36X Controller PCB
Between this, the CGnome, and the MiniCL... I'm thinking you have a lot of what you need to get some pretty amazing boards built up. I'm imagining a kit for a re-mappable controller where "all" you have to do is take the chip from a wired360 controller, solder it on, and connect the controller cable...

Re: Intergrated Xbox360 into a car
It depends on how pretty you want it. You could like... suspend it between rubber bands in your glove box or something. Alternatively, find some light springs and have it resting on them. You know the slinky was actually invented (by accident) when trying to solve this problem for radar on boats. :D...

Re: Gebby's Slim Xbox Laptop
If that happens, this will be built so that it takes relatively little effort to replace the board. This isn't some crazy board trimming experiment, you know. :P anyway: Modchip. Problem solved. Yes, that takes away from the "It's not modded" thing, but still... Also, I plan to softmod, steal the sa...

Re: Gebby's Slim Xbox Laptop
I'm not modding it because I don't want to mod it. Good God, how many times do I have to say this... I want it to be stock because it makes it more of a challenge. If I sell it, and the person that buys it wants otherwise, I'll be happy to provide said service, and I'm even going so far as to build ...

Re: unlock xbox hdd
I would just suck it up and use xboxHDM, but then again, if you don't have a computer suited to that anymore, I can see there being an issue.
Any particular reason you don't want to use the boot disk?

Re: Gebby's Slim Xbox Laptop
You have to have two power regulators and an voltage inverter to hook it up. It also supplies a ton of voltages that the xbox doesn't need. My circuit will require 2 power regulators and a few transistors + support circuitry. Overall size will be smaller, and there won't be a lot of unnecessary work...

Re: Gebby's Slim Xbox Laptop
I would use the PSU I'm working to design instead. You know, seeing as the PicoPSU isn't at all straight-forward to use with an xbox, and would require approximately the same amount and size of circuitry to work with it as my PSU will take up total. Why do people not understand how ridiculous it is ...

Slimming the older 360 a tiny bit.
So, in order to make the 360 begin to be feasible for even a large laptop, you kinda have to relocate quite a few caps. I figured, since you're taking them off anyway, why not put a smaller on in their places. So, I found these: 10 NCC KZJ 6.3V 820UF LOW ESR Motherboard Capacitor You need 15 per boa...

Re: Gebby's Slim Xbox Laptop
So, I've been trying to figure out a better power situation then picopsu + converter... I figure the majority of the xbox's power is on the 5V line, so why would I use a 12V supply to run it? This is what I've come up with: http://www.ti.com/product/ptn04050c The 3.3v line is only used to tell the x...

Re: Extending the power button on Inspiron 530
Yes, you want to hook up one to NO and one to common. What this does is allows the switch to act the same way as the Momentary (or NO) button for power on your laptop, being open whenever it's not being presses, blocking the circuit, and closing when you press it so as to complete the circuit, allow...
