Very nicely done, however, I can't seem to shake the feeling that I've read about that concept actually being sold.
Also, how do you carry it around now that you've gone and placed a cartrige slot in the handle?

Re: Powering a genesis, 9V battery?
I should have been less ambiguous in my statement, the battery *could* explode, but then again, it might not. Anyways, in theory it should work, but reality is mean sometimes.

Nice work, Of course you're lucky that your "fun little toy" is as good as it is, my computers that I mess around with are a Pentium 70 and two Pentium 110s. For a short time, I was "fixing" a 12 inch G4 from school, installed xbuntu on it, now the teacher is scared of it. You should LED backlight m...

Re: Powering a genesis, 9V battery?
Out of boredom, I've tried it on my Nomad, I never got it to fully power up though, it instantly read low battery, but that may have been because it was not fresh. With a new battery, it might work, but then again, it may explode from the high discharge rate.

Re: X-Book (XBox Laptop) NOW FEATURING PICTURES!
It uses a not so cheap relay to do it automagicaly as far as I can tell. Looks to be around $15-$20 if you already have the xbox and dvd dongle, but it does get a quite a few cool points too.

Re: Gensis 3 portable out of pocket tv
Well, if you don't have inputs, you could use the rf modulator (the black box on the cable for connecting to your tv) and wire it to the external antenna port, but that won't be to great looking. You say you've gotten the display to work with the genesis though, so you may be able to refine that unt...

Read the stickies, they have what you need: http://forums.benheck.com/viewtopic.php?f=12&t=7009" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Although I don't see how you would do this and not "hav to go through connecting all the cables".

Re: Project HackBOX
With the options presented and the project name, along with your current expenses, the next step should be a TSOP flash. It just wouldn't seem hacked if you went about it in a safe way. Alternatively, you could try to design and build your own modchip for that really authentic hacked feel.

Re: The Afternoon projects thread.
This felt empty, so I did something this afternoon. I painted my xbox with spray paints laying around the house. The result is my "Covenant" Xbox, because the silly UNSC get to much attention in all the Halo themed mods. http://img196.imageshack.us/img196/3461/xbthumb.jpg It looks like this inside. ...

Re: Xbox 360 controller mod
You know, for the sake of continuity and whatnot.
Anyways, nice paint job/controller mod, although I personally wouldn't be able to use it as an analog stick, it would be nice if it were raised a bit more though.

Re: xbox questions
Basically, if you have to ask these questions, than the answer is no. Both can be done, however they would require a very extensive knowledge of electronics, video encoding, and radio frequencies.

Well, 8 of http://www.radioshack.com/product/index.jsp?productId=3517751&tab=accessories" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; could be helpful for about $180 US after tax, you'd have to come up with some way to charge it though. You could probably find a better deal on them somewhere, but ...
