Re: Wiring lithium polymer (LiPo) batteries
But it would be possible to charge and play off of wall power at the same time using two separate adapters?

Re: Wiring lithium polymer (LiPo) batteries
Look on radioshack for "DPDT Switch." Something like this: http://rsk.imageg.net/graphics/product_images/pRS1C-2160400t98.jpg DPDT Submini Slide Switch Doing the math, it's rated for 37 Watts- if you're going to run upwards of 12V across it, you should be able to push 3 amps- plenty for a portable.

Re: Wiring lithium polymer (LiPo) batteries
The only thing left is getting a charger- would you recommend a 1.5A charger for your 2500mAh battery suggestion? http://www.batteryspace.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=3379" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; Oh- also for clarity on the diagram by ShockSlayer- would you connect...

Re: Commonly Used Screens
I'm wondering about other names for the psone screen. I know Zenith makes some. Is Intec another? examples: http://www.amazon.com/5-6-INCH-COLOR-GAME-SCREEN/dp/B000P8VWWM/ref=sr_1_12?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1243480121&sr=8-12" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; http://www.amazon.com/Int...

Re: PSone screen with VGA input?
Ah, 2 AV ports. That's a total of 8 connections, which would meet my need for 6. That means I could go on the cheap and just get some regular stereo mini jacks. 6 connections total. Put the female ends on the screen so nothing's jutting out. Me likes. Thinking back over my number 6, would I need mor...

Re: PSone screen with VGA input?
Interesting... you are bringing up a similar idea with your first posts as I did when I was just getting started. The thread you linked to at the beginning, in fact. :) Also, I don't really like the idea of a header to connect the screen to the portable- what are some other options? It has to be pr...

Re: PSone screen with VGA input?
Actually the PSone screen CAN accept VGA. Its been around for years now. http://www.bit-tech.net/modding/2004/07/07/psone_lcd/1 I've been in the modding scene for quite some time now Actually, that's exactly the article I was looking at. It says you need to make sure your video card can outpu...

Re: PSone screen with VGA input?
OK, so this is what I have gathered: It is possible to make a PSone screen that can connect to an average computer via VGA (at 640x480) if: You wire up a h and v sync to csync converter and, You use a program called Power Strip to tune the refresh rate exactly to your screen. The only issues I see w...

Back to bacteria's question: So, if you put 4 x 0.25 watt 1k ohm resistors in parallel would that give 1K ohm resistors at 1 watt? (like amperage works on batteries)? Like Kyo said, resistors in parallel add up as 1/(thier resistance). However, you could achieve this using 4 x 250 ohm resistors in s...

Re: PSone screen with VGA input?
So I did a little more poking around- and it looks like you can combine the h- and v-sync from a VGA signal into a composite sync for use in RGB+S (as in the psone screen, as far as I know) The site I found it on is http://www.tkk.fi/Misc/Electronics/circuits/vga2rgbs.html And here is the diagram: h...

Re: PSone screen with VGA input?
5) Is there a way to split the csync into hsync and vsync? (I hope I got the terminology right.) Would that cover all the pins that VGA needs? How big would an upscan converter PCB be? 6) Does anyone know what resolution RGB is tied to? 7) Is there a different screen that costs $50 or less that can ...

Because I'm interested in the USB idea and how it could be applied to a modular screen.
And yes- I was a little too lazy to check the date...

What is this thing? Not to sound stupid , but it feels like this thread starts in the middle.
Is this going to be a fully functional NES smaller than a NES cart? Awesomes!
