I can let bots start posting more often again, would that liven things up?bicostp wrote:It's quiet.
Too quiet...
Re: Spambots
I'd agree that the sheer amount of bots recently seems out of the norm, at least from when I was more active. In the past few days since I started coming here again I've deleted/banned at least 10 different bots. That being said, the moderators / admins do get around to taking care of bots and repor...

deadmau5 Head Construction Guide
Been awhile, eh? Got a few projects here and there, but nothing much game related in the past few years. For now here's a write up from my Halloween costume. I'll try to get more pics up later, generating thumbnails now http://gannon.portablesofdoom.org/deadmau5/2011-10-15_17-59-53_8_small.jpg Outli...

Re: Rideshares
Well, I just placed in a contest at school, and they want me to show up this weekend for some reason....but I'm planning on going to MGC instead unless something else comes up
Anyone along the way need a ride? I should be coming down along the east side of Wisconsin, through Greenbay/etc.

Re: Wii DVD drive on the Gamecube
Interesting, I knew the hardware was similar, but not to this point
I'd just go for a wii portable, but if you are only interested in gc games this is a better (and cheaper) solution.

Re: Rideshares
I'll be riding down from Houghton, MI if I can make it. Might be cheaper to just take the bus though

Hardware vs. software minimization
So, which is better? Working on a project right now and have been thinking of different methods I can go about. Looks like I can reduce the software by generating some signals based off of other signals, but would require a lot of extra hardware it seems (one line should have a pulse at clock / 8 * ...

Re: wii disk drive help
Which connector? I couldn't find the right cable at digikey or mouser, so I bought this ( http://www.modsupplier.com/catalog/wode-long-ribbon-cable-p-913.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; ) All I did is install that and made a longer cable for the other connector and then I was abl...

Re: WIIp it
So, dc-dc converter came in 4 weeks after I ordered it. But...doesn't work with the wii..supposedly can supply more than enough amperage, so not sure what the issue is. Going straight from a benchtop dc power supply I can get it to boot up with 12.8V at the lowest. But it's not really a clean supply...

Re: NES Flash Cart Power Pack Compatibility?
It really depends on each system, but varying the resistance on some datalines did seem to make it work on my NOAC. The new powerpaks have this mod already built-in, so you might have to jump the resistor bank or replace it (depending on the resistance that works with your NOAC). http://www.nespower...

Re: NES Flash Cart Power Pack Compatibility?
I remember I had to adjust the resistors on some data lines to get mine to work with a NOAC. I had the first PCB revision though, may be different now.
