Re: FS RDRAM Transplant N64
Yes, basically it's like soldering the expansion pak onto the main board so you don't need the slot or the separate board sticking out, but it's achieved by replacing the original chips with the larger ones found in the expansion pak as well as later board revisions. The only reason for doing so is ...

FS RDRAM Transplant N64
I have a NUS-CPU-04 N64 board with the RDRAM transplanted, great base for starting a portable. Fully tested and working. I haven't done the on-board termination yet, so it still needs the Jumper Pak, but if you want I can do that as well. Make an offer, I have no idea what this is worth other than w...

I "cheated" and used one of these: http://www.ebay.com/itm/TTX-Tech-SF-Classic-Controller-Game-Pad-for-Wii-Wiimote-Remote-/281091924156?pt=US_Video_Game_Controllers&hash=item41726260bc#ht_1377wt_953" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; and put its main pcb in and official Super Famicom sh...

Re: Dead N64 PSUs
Awesome, one of them came back to life. The other one still won't power on, but I had it plugged in this whole time, so I'll unplug it for awhile and check it again. Huge relief, thanks

Dead N64 PSUs
I just bought an N64 off Ebay, and in the process of testing it, I've managed to fry 2 power supplies. Does anybody have any experience in debugging/repairing them? Or maybe, does anybody know of a common point of failure? I see a fuse, but it seems to be intact. I haven't managed to get it complete...

Re: SNES Nonvolatile SRAM board
Well, I'm happy to say that I've gotten PCB's in, and it works great! Rather than using the diodes, I actually ended up using a 74HCT00 quad NAND gate IC. For anyone looking to do this for themselves, you can hook the F-RAM chip directly to the SRAM signals EXCEPT FOR /CS. The logic to drive /CS is:...

Re: DIY SFC Wii Classic Controller
Never one to be satisfied with a properly working project, once I sold out all of my first batch of mods, rather than just ordering another run of the same PCB's, I re-worked the design as my first foray into QFN leadless chips and reflow soldering. AND IT WORKS!!! :D http://i39.tinypic.com/amvdaa.j...

Re: SNES Nonvolatile SRAM board
I finally figured it out! And it's way simpler that I thought :) Just needs some glue logic on the /CS line and it works great. Big thanks to whicker on NESDev for pointing me in the right direction (I'd tried glue logic before, but apparently not the correct combination. Here's the working cart, kl...

IIRC, gen 3 and up (which would include all GBA ones) do not have batteries, so that shouldn't be an issue. Just an FYI...

Re: FS: GameCube controller to Wii Classic Controller adapter
The hardware is ready, but I'm working on adding support for on-the-fly button remapping via software. From the sound of things, tueidj's going to add the software-side support into libwiiuse and Devolution.

Re: raspberry pi questions
I disagree about C++ only being for desktop apps, because if you can write C++, you can write C without too much trouble, and that is still incredibly widespread in embedded platforms among other things. C++ is pretty difficult to learn, but pretty much everything that you learn in C++ can be transf...

Re: DIY SFC Wii Classic Controller
Yes, this could be built into a cable. I'm already doing that with GameCube cables. I just don't have any of the SNES cables on hand right now.

Re: DIY SFC Wii Classic Controller
Sweet, figured out the problem, the Atmega8 has a different clock multiplier than the 48/88/168/328, so the fuse bytes were wrong. Setting the correct clock multiplier fixed it right up :) http://i49.tinypic.com/347v4si.png eggwolio, if you're wanting to buy populated and programmed boards and do th...

Re: DIY SFC Wii Classic Controller
Ok, I got PCB's in today. I didn't have any surface-mount Atmega328's on hand, so I tried using an Atmega8. It didn't work, but I'm not sure if it's the chip or the PCB or the soldering... anyway, I took pictures, so you can see how it looks. I'm really happy with the end result, even if it isn't wo...
