Your work with the GC looks awesome, techknott. I can't wait to see you finish this :D!

You've inspired me to make a small-as-possilbe GCp with this, actually :o!
Without games my life would have no meaning.
Well, I guess it would, but it would be a lot less fun!!!!!!!

Hey, I believe earlier you said you were soldering your memory card to your board. Do you have pinouts for doing that? especially ones that go farther back then just to the memory card selector... if that makes sense.

Thanks for the comments guys.

Ok, so I had a problem on Saturday, I blew up the board  Left it on by accident with no heatsink attached..

Anyhoo, I got another GC from a car boot on Sunday for next to nothing so decided to start afresh. This time I decided it didn't all need to be quite so compact as ive decided on orientation and design etc.

Id rather not let too much go at this point as id like to think i have a chance of winning the comp. So here are a few pics of the 'revised' version.

Everything is now screwed and clipped together in case I need to take it all apart again. The LCD controller is also in there. Its using RGB and will be made from brushed aluminium like my 360wvi.

Ive also monitored the cpu over an hour and am getting a steady 54-55'c with 1x20mm fan. The heatsink needs trimming a bit still though and I plan to stick in 2 for good measure..

Also, LiIons came today and they wont make it any bigger.

btw, if anyone has a cheap mem card for sale, pm me please. I can paypal you. Struggling to get one.

Also, alternate points for mem card are below, bit messy but its from the old board.

Few pics as the forums seem to have quitened down a tad.

I no longer have access to a CNC machine, so all cutting and shaping has been done by hand with my trusty dremel. The fascia and overall shape is nowhere near complete(so dont flame hard just yet), but it will be black shiny perspex and aluminium.

Thats all for now......

Cool..but it looks like you have to face the disc while holding it and pop your head on the other side to play the thing...or you showed the the lazer wrong....Either way It's looking awesome...

Umm... isn't the disc assembly on the wrong side? Looks great though otherwise. You have skill with a dremel.

Nah, its on the right side. I decided not to bother with an LCD as they take up too much room.

NOOOO! It was gonna be awesome! Dont give up on the lcd!

PLEEEEEEEEAAAAAAASSEEEEEEEEEE!

I cant/wont stop you, but I will reccommend that you dont give up the screen. Maybe you could jest put it over the DD or something.

I see, said the blind man.

I really like your design! That looks very nice!

Mind if I "borrow" a few of your ideas? I'm modding (not portabilizing) a GC myself, and I really like that reduced disc drive size.

EDIT:
Holy Manna, Batman! Is that a caulking gun made out of a Mag Lite I see? That is awesome on so many levels!

Like anyone would put that much time into slimming a Gamecube down and NOT turn it into a portable
