In need of some CNC

Yes it is nice to be able to put your projects INSIDE something isn't it? You know, to hold everything together so it doesn't flop around? Discuss the techniques here!

In need of some CNC

Post by collinE » Wed Oct 21, 2009 12:26 pm

I was working with 64M320N3 trying to get a case made for a 360 laptop, but he kind of stopped replying. whether he got fed up with me or died, I couldn't tell ya.

I dropped by a local CNC shop and they said it was going to be 2-3 thousand to make me a case because my schematics wouldn't work and their engineers would take a week to make new ones.

I need someone who can offer me a less expensive solution or someone who is familiar with CNC programming and could recreate my design in the correct format for machining. I'm willing to pay you for your skillz.

A week to redo them? Either you have super complicated plans, or the guys that work there are idiots. What format do you need them to be (what are they now?)? I have some experience with CAD programs.
Have you checked with any other shops?

I don't think they're idiots. I think they make a lot of money off of idiots though. I haven't tried any others yet, but I'm guessing they would all overcharge for their time.

I personally didn't think my design was complicated, but what do I know? PM me your email and I'll send my design files. Then tell me what you think.

edit: the design was created on inkscape in .svg but converted to .pdf
